This Corsair iCUE LINK hub repair came into our Stockport workshop after the owner fitted a new all-in-one liquid CPU cooler. The cooling fans were not receiving power and the processor was getting very hot. They brought the PC to us to find out what had gone wrong.
We diagnosed a faulty Corsair iCUE LINK hub and replaced it. That got the cooling system back up and running, without needing to replace the complete cooler.
The problem: an AIO cooler fitted, but the fans would not run
An AIO is an all-in-one liquid cooler. In this case, the owner had purchased and installed one, but the cooling was not operating as expected. With no power reaching the fans and the CPU getting hot, the PC needed attention before being put back into normal use.
A problem appearing after an upgrade does not automatically mean the person fitting it has done something wrong. Here, our diagnosis identified a faulty component: the iCUE LINK hub.
Corsair iCUE LINK hub repair: finding the cause
We traced the cooling fault to the hub rather than assuming the whole liquid cooler needed replacing. Replacing the faulty hub restored operation and brought the PC back to working order.
This is a useful example of why diagnosis matters. Similar symptoms can have different causes, so the solution for this machine should not be taken as a reason to buy a new hub for every PC with fans that will not spin.
The result: cooling working again
With the replacement hub fitted, the cooling system was back up and running. The workshop photograph at the top of this page shows the PC working after the repair, with the Corsair cooler and illuminated fans visible.

Frequently asked questions
Can a faulty Corsair iCUE LINK hub cause cooling problems?
It was the cause in this repair. The cooling fans were not receiving power and the CPU was getting very hot. Replacing the faulty hub restored operation. Other PCs with similar symptoms still need diagnosis to establish their own cause.
Does the whole AIO cooler need replacing if its fans do not work?
Not necessarily. On this PC, replacing the hub resolved the problem without replacing the complete cooler. We assess the fault before recommending which parts need attention.
Can you help with a PC upgrade I fitted myself?
Yes. Tell us what you installed and the symptoms you have noticed. We can assess the problem and provide a quote before work. An issue after an upgrade can be caused by a faulty part, as it was in this case.
