“Important message” or “Unknown Part” warning from Apple

For example, you may receive a notification such as “Important Battery Message – Unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine Apple battery” or “Unknown Part” in the “Parts and Service History” section within Settings.
Don’t panic — this is common, especially with refurbished or repaired iPhones.
So, what exactly do these messages mean? They typically appear after we’ve successfully performed repair work on your device, providing insight into the replaced component: While only an Apple Genius Bar or an Apple Authorized Service Provider can replace components in the latest iPhones without triggering this message, it’s important to note that seeing it doesn’t necessarily indicate an issue with your battery or any other part. A new battery (or camera or screen) has been installed, ensuring your device continues to operate smoothly.
Rest assured, these messages have no impact on your device’s performance. They’ll be visible on the lock screen for four days and then for 15 days in Settings. While receiving this message may temporarily limit your ability to monitor your battery’s health easily, your iPhone will continue functioning normally.
