What refurbished means in our workshop
It is more than passing on a used computer. Our preparation covers the hardware, cleaning and setup, followed by a final check before sale.
- 1. Inspect & test
Check the machine’s hardware, including the screen, ports, storage and laptop battery where fitted.
- 2. Clean & prepare
Clean the computer and address faults identified during testing. Cosmetic condition is described separately.
- 3. Set up the system
Prepare the appropriate operating system, drivers and updates. Check the listing for the supplied system.
- 4. Final checks
Check the prepared computer before it is offered for sale, with its specification and warranty details.
Refurbished does not mean brand new
A refurbished computer has had a previous life. It may show cosmetic marks even when it works well. Read the individual condition or grade description and ask about anything important to you before ordering.
Age and specification matter too. A model name alone does not tell you whether a computer suits your software, games or working day. Tell us which applications you use and we can help you compare.

Refurbished computers normally include a 12-month back-to-base hardware warranty unless otherwise stated. Back-to-base means returning the equipment to our workshop for assessment; contact us first to agree arrangements.

What is a refurbished computer?
A refurbished computer is a previously used machine that has been checked, cleaned and prepared for further use. Read its individual specification, condition description and warranty before buying.
Will a refurbished laptop look brand new?
Not necessarily. It may show signs of previous use. Check the condition or grade description on the individual product and ask us if you need more detail.
Do refurbished computers include a warranty?
Our refurbished laptops, PCs and MacBooks normally include a 12-month back-to-base hardware warranty unless otherwise stated. Check the individual listing and our warranty information for the cover and exclusions.
What battery condition can I expect?
Our refurbished laptops have a working battery holding at least 80% of its original capacity unless the item description says otherwise. Runtime depends on the computer and how you use it. Batteries are consumables and are excluded from the refurbished-computer warranty.
Will it run my software or games?
This depends on the exact computer and software requirements. Tell us the applications or games you use before buying so we can help assess the available options. Not every refurbished computer is suitable for demanding games or specialist software.
